DIES Forum 2026 Coming Soon!
In today’s rapidly evolving environment shaped by artificial intelligence (AI), changing labour market demands, and broader societal transformations, the demands for knowledge and skills acquired through formal education are undergoing significant shifts. The recent emergence of AI has brought the concept of “future skills”, along with related competency frameworks, back to the centre of international education and policy debates.
This opens up a set of pressing questions: What are the essential skills required in the age of AI? How can universities help shape these skills through higher learning in ways that preserve academic integrity and sustain students’ curiosity, judgement, and creativity? How should universities reconsider their structures and organisation as AI becomes part of their daily practice? Against this backdrop, DIES Forum 2026 on Higher Education Institutions in Transformation: Shaping Future Skills in the Age of AI will take place this year in November.
The DIES Forum is a truly alumni event, bringing togehter DIES alumni and NMT alumni to share views and perspectives on current developments in higher education institutions as well as to exchange practices and discuss pressing issues in the dynamic field of higher education management from an inter-regional perspective.
The 2026 DIES Forum invites alumni of DIES community to explore these and related questions together: share good practices from their institutions and discuss how higher education institutions (HEIs) can prepare students and graduates for uncertain futures, and navigate their way through the age of AI.
The call for proposals is now open. We look forward to receiving your proposals by 27.07.2026 and to welcoming you at the Forum in November.
